Weeeek 9 Lecture..

....HOW TO TEACH YOURSELF SOFTWARE....

Week 9... MID SEMESTER BREAK IN LESS THAN 48 HOURS.

tODAY WE HAD a great l e c t u r e on teaching yourself... SOFTWARE.

here is a list of the steps you neeeeeed to follow:

  • First find out...what you need to do and the DO IT... ok so it might not be that easy. dont just stare at the screen, push button and play around.

  • Now you need to learn what you need to know. LEARN IT...dont just think you know it. LEARN IT

  • YOU..need to know and understand that you cant learn software in a couple of days. software is complicated. Knowing how to save a document or open on is not classified as KNOWING HOW TO USE A PROGRAM.

  • BEGIN BY PLAYING. "make something, anything. it will make you feel better. And then you will hit a brick wall'

  • Work out what are the most common features among ALL software packages.. THEY ALL HAVE AN ARROW SELECT KEY.

  • Make sure you always save your docment. If you dont know how to save. LEARN IT. save your work 50000000000000000000000000000000000 times. and never overwrite the same file, just create a new one. that way if u do something wrong, you can go back a step. :)

  • If you still cant use the FRICKEN file USE THE HELP BAR PROVIDED BY THE PROGRAMMe.

  • but.....the help section sucks donkeys balls.

  • If you still cant work the damm software out... SEARCH IT... thats the reson google is worth the money it is...

  • Join a gay forum. become a forum ego maniac. ask questions and get stupid answers.

  • LYDNA tutorial companies... they are good. but video and book tutorials suck.. dont buy anything. not even food. you smell like an off ham sandwhich that has been sitting under a car seat for 2 weeks.

BUT FINALLY....

AS SOON AS YOU LEARN THE STUPID PACKAGE IT WILL CHANGE AND A NEW ONE WILL BECOME AVAILABLE... SUCKER.

.ITS ALL ABOOUT THE CONTENT.

EVERYONE SHOULD BE EDUCATED.

Less than one per cent of what the world spent every year on weapons was needed to put every child into school by the year 2000 and yet it didn’t happen. WHY?

Weeek 8/9 ... Tutorial

This week's tasks:What opportunities can you find for political participation via the internet.

How many of the following can you achieve while sticking to your political beliefs?

Sign an e-petition. CHECK

i signed this petition to save the cute seals...

Respond to a professional blogger at a major news site. CHECK

The ABC news site has many blogging topics. I chose to repond to John Stossels blog about the september 11 victums. My post included the flowing text:

R.I.P 9/11 victims.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/johnstossel/2009/09/911.html

What is Barak Obama up to today? CHECK

today BARAK OBAMA is watching SHREK 3D

Find out who your local, state and federal representatives are. CHECK

Local:
LAWLOR, Mr Peter Joseph, MP

State:

BLIGH, Miss, Anna

Federal:

RUDD, Mr Kevin 07

all of this information was found Thanks to the Gold Coast City Councils Website -
Look up the Queensland or Australian hansard to find the last time your local member spoke in parliament. CHECK

I THINK IT WAS THE 2ND SEPTEMBER 2009

Let your local member know what you think about their last speech.

I think the last speech from Mr Peter Lawlor was very professional. He used great vocabulary and was well presented... I actually have no idea what his last speach was... :)

But he seems like a well dressed happy man in the photo. so im sure his last speech was excelento

What do you think of the Australian Government's plans to censor the internet (the so-called "Clean Feed")??? What place does censorship have in a democracy?

The whole idea of putting a censor on the internet is completely absurd, who is to define what sites are considered appropriate and inappropriate?

Everyone has diffent thoughts, ideas, and ways in which they see life. One parent may think it is wrong for their child to stuble across religion readings on the internet because it is not what they belive in... Yet another parent may appose of a child seeing a female in her swimmers when searching something into google... it could be a good idea, but WHERE WOULD WE DRAW THE LINE AND WHO WOULD DICTATE WHAT WAS CENSORED AND WHAT WAS NOT?

I do however aggree that some things should not be processed on the internet. I once looked at a list of potentially banable wedsites. There was also an article asking the public of anorexia websites should be banned as it is giving this information to our children...(i think that is just plane crazy) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/chat/r/t-10021482/index.html Some of the sites could not in any way, shape or form, be considered bad. By allowing the government to control what we view on the internet, is just another way in attempting to control or shape our country to suit what ever needs required.

...Starvation...

A clean water system would save more than 10 million children from dying of dehydration and Diarrhea in 3rd world countries each year.

This is present in your world

weeek 7 TUTORIAL

For our tutorial in week 7 we are to download some freeware apps, use them, muse them and write a little about our experience with them.

Dexpot will allow you to set up and customize virtual desktops within Windows such that each can behave as a seperate workspace with its own icons and runnning apps. It offers powerful tools to customize and manage these virtual desktops in a nice intuitive graphical user interface.

It creates up to 20 virtual desktops; you can navigate these through the system tray icon or using a number of cool looking gizmos that you can choose from.

Dextop offers high customizability: each desktop can have its own name, icons/files/shortcuts, wallpaper, screen resolutions, running apps, transparency of windows, etc. You can also set rules for each desktop, e.g. to open a certain app when you enter a certain desktop for the first time or every single time, etc.

Froom downloading this program i have been able to organise my desktop and find thing better. Its a new computer man... lovin' it

One last thing:

The poorest 40 percent of the world’s population accounts for 5 percent of global income. The richest 20 percent accounts for three-quarters of world income.

weeek 7 lecture already Yo'

Wow...Last week... (week 7) i had 3 mid semester exams...
so here i am in week 8 posting my blogs from week 7.

...So here we go...
TODAY... WE SAW THE RETURN OF THE ONE AND ONLY MR JASON

He blabbered on about freeware apps or should i say "free software" that can be downloaded from the internet very quickly.

...ALL COMPUTER IN SOME WAY SHAPE OR FORM ARE CONECTED TO THE INTERNET...

mR jAsOn used the website portableapps.com This entitles people to readily download software so it can be used on a portable means. Other site that may interest you are freewaregenius, and sourcefoge. IT'S ALL FREE. CHECK IT OUT yO'. There are even programs that can find your deleted programs and theirfore bring them BACK TO LIFE.

Through out the lecture Jason taked and talked and talked about these free sites to download stuff. and then right at the end... started to discuss 3 open-source software issues.

These R:

ONE: VIRUSES

TWO: THE ECONOMY (dontations)
THREE: PEOPLE JUST DONT CARE ABOUT ALL THE CRAP NO MORE. THEY DOWNLOAD IT ANYWAY!

So that was our lecture for weeeeek 7.

hope your enjoyed it. :)

I'll leave you with one last thing:

*Hunger & Malnutrition
*Every 7 seconds a child dies from hunger.
*24,000 people die each day from hunger and hunger related diseases = 8.8 million people yearly will be dead due to lack of food.
*Hunger kills more people than AIDS, malaria and TB combined. There are 850 million (equal to the combined population of the US, Canada and the EU) chronically hungry people in the world while there is more than enough food in the world to feed everyone.

Production

Another poverty statistic to finish off my blog...

This should not be happening... if everyone got behind it, we could rid poverty

http://www.povertyprogram.com/hr.html

The UN estimates that almost 6 million children were in forced and bonded labor. 300,000 in armed conflict. Almost 2 million in prostitution and pornography. 600,000 drug trafficking. And over 1 million in slavery.
