Tute,.. Weeks 5/6 Internet Derived Short Film

BLACK BUTTON
GOD WILL NOT SUFFER YOU TO BE TEMPTER ABOVE THAT YE ARE ABLE.
BUT WILL WITH THE TEMPTATION TO ALSO MAKE A WAY TO ESCAPE.

I chose this short film as it makes yourself think and ask the personal question ... "Would i press the button if i was him?" or "Would i have taken the Key?"

This short film also used many film shots and techniques that i have been taught in previous NCT lectures...

The Film contained a

  • WHO... Mr Roberts... emphasized through a close up shot

  • WHAT... Choice between the button or the Key.... portrayed using a mid shot

  • WHEN... On his way to heaven or should i say.. Hell... A series of wide shots shows Mr Roberts bleeding, as he is given a choice from heaven (the key) or hell (the button)
"Eventually Mr Roberts, EVERYONES time is up"

  • WHERE... A white room, with nothing but 2 chairs, a key, button and a brief case... shown through a wide shot.

  • WHY... "Would i press the button if i was him?" or "Would i have taken the Key?"... A test of morals, and values... A big close up of the confusion and guilt on Mr Roberts face

  • HOW... A series of shots showing the Key, the Button, and Mr Roberts face all emphasizing the suspense to how Mr Roberts will get out of the situation.

The Film also put into play the rule of thirds and the 180 degree rule... Making the conversation between the two characters believable... It also enabled the viewer to relate to the film and fell the pain and guilt of Mr Roberts.

"10 MILLION DOLLARS TO PUSH A BUTTON"
"I'M LEAVING NOW" (Mr Roberts)
"YOU WILL FIND THE DOOR IS LOCKED"

WILD DOGS

Wild dogs is a short film created using a software package called Maya.
Wild Dogs uses no verbal language throughout the film.
The film is able to communicate the story to the viewer through music, and different film shots.

The opening scene is established with a long shot of a desert area, 1 tree, 2 dogs, 1 bone and a large carcass of some sort.

A series of medium wide shots shows one of the dogs abandon his small bone in order to get the larger carcass. However, a close up shot shows the same dog distressed and upset when he realizes that the carcass bones are too big, and the other dog has already claimed his other small bone...

The use of film techniques has enabled the whole story to be told without the use of language. Only language of the Cinema.
The first dog then bargains with the other dog to swap the carcass for the little bone, not to realize that the carcass can be broken down into man little bones.

I chose this film because of the use of camera angles, techniques, and music to tell a story. With the absence of verbal Communication.
This is a very clever short film and puts into play many of the aspects learn in our NCT lectures.

THIS SIDE UP
!!!Always expected to have trouble when you buy a MAC (hey Jouls)!!!

This film was chosen to enter my BLOG because of its amazing creativity, and entertainment.
The film is about someone trying to conform or keep up with the fast, continuously changing aspects of TECHNOLOGY.
...He not only waits 17 months for his music to download, but then only has a record player not a CD player....
The film, along with the one above do not use verbal language in order to tell the story.

GET THE LATEST MUSIC HITS
....DOWNLOAD....

A series of close up, and extreme close up shots emphasize the point of the slow download speed...
0.0001% COMPLETE
17 MONTHS TO GO
The use of long shots also places further emphasis on the time taken for the MAC to download music... as the mans house is almost empty... there is nothing else to entertain him, or help time pass by quicker.
The film uses a series of wide shots to emphasize just how long 17 months is...
With the man sleeping on his chair,
blowing scrumped up pieces of paper across his desk,
and then sleeping on his arm...

...In the end...
The download does complete,
....HOWEVER....
the man does not have a CD player, only a record player

This film emphasizes the point that technology is continuously changing.
In previous lectures we have discussed how rapidly technology changes in such short periods of time.

!!!DON'T BLINK OR YOUR IPOD WILL GO OUT OF FASHION!!!
