Tutorial...Week 3... Shot composition

SHOT COMPOSITION




WOW...It's week 3 semester 2 2009 already... Time flys when your having fun Yo'

I have a picture here... it of some houses at the end of a warf... Im going to post the original... and then im going to do some cropping, zoooming and cool stuff to make it a bit different...

Now you will notice that i croped the image and zoomed... to make the houses for dominant within the photo...

VLS/WS - Very long shot/ Wide Shot
LS - Long Shot - Shot which shows all or most of a fairly large subject and usually much of the surroundings
MLS - Medium Long Shot - Allows the viewer to see a wide range of surrounding with a focus.
MS - Mid Shot - Popular when focusing on a conversation or person
MCU - Medium Close - Up The setting can still be seen. The lower frame line passes through the chest of the actor. Medium shots are frequently used for the tight presentation of two actors (the two shot), or with dexterity three (the three shot).
CU - Close Up - A picture which shows a fairly small part of the scene, such as a character's face, in great detail so that it fills the screen.
BCU - Big Close Up - forehead to chin.
ECU - Extreme Close Up - Eyes or something more specific
